INGREDIENTS |
- 8-10 pounds fresh apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

1/2 cup sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon

Topping:

1/4 cup light brown sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup flour
-
1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 cup quick oats

INSTRUCTIONS |
Combine apples, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon; place in a 13-x-9-inch baking pan. For topping, combine sugars, seasonings, and flour; cut in butter or margarine; fold in oats (mixture will be crumbly). Sprinkle mixture over apples. Bake at 350ยบ for 45 to 50 minutes (increase time to 1 hour if apples are extra hard). Top with whipped cream at serving time. |
