Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 8-10 pounds fresh apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • Topping:
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • Instructions


    Combine apples, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon; place in a 13-x-9-inch baking pan. For topping, combine sugars, seasonings, and flour; cut in butter or margarine; fold in oats (mixture will be crumbly). Sprinkle mixture over apples. Bake at 350ยบ for 45 to 50 minutes (increase time to 1 hour if apples are extra hard).
    Top with whipped cream at serving time.
