Desserts - Black Skillet Apple Pie



INGREDIENTS
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 pie crusts (thawed, frozen crusts work fine)
  • 1 cup white sugar (or substitute Splenda)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 6 to 8 Granny Smith or other apples, peeled and sliced

INSTRUCTIONS
Melt butter in large cast-iron skillet; mix in brown sugar until melted. Place one pie crust over mixture. Place sliced apples on top of crust. Mix sugar or Splenda and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples. Lay second pie crust over this; cut small slits in top. Bake 45 minutes at 350ยบ.
