Auntie Anne’s Soft Pretzels

INGREDIENTS |
- 1/2 cup brown sugar

21/2 tablespoons yeast

2 cups warm water

3 tablespoons oil
-
41/2 cups flour (more, if needed)

2 cups hot water
-
11/2 teaspoons baking soda
-
Pretzel salt, to taste
-
Melted butter

INSTRUCTIONS |
Preheat oven to 450º. Mix first five ingredients; allow dough to rise 15 minutes. Roll and shape into pretzel twists. Combine 2 cups hot water and baking soda; dip pretzels in mixture. Drain on paper towels. Place on cookie sheet and sprinkle with pretzel salt. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown. Dip in melted butter. |
