INGREDIENTS |
- 2 tablespoons butter

¼ cup minced onion

¼ cup chopped celery

¼ cup all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

3 cups water

2 cups chopped or shredded cabbage

2 cups cooked, diced ham
-
¾ cup sour cream

INSTRUCTIONS |
In a large pot, melt butter and sauté onion and celery until tender. Add flour, salt, and pepper, blending until smooth. Add water and cook until mixture comes to a boil, stirring constantly. Add cabbage; cover and simmer until tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in ham and cook until thoroughly heated. Blend in sour cream; heat, but do not boil. Note: This soup is very good served with cornbread. |
