It’s not a typical Tennessee crop, but canola is being grown more in our region these days like this field on the Davis farm in Sparta. Although it has a little earlier planting date, canola grows in about the same cycle as winter wheat and is harvested early summer, so it works well as a double crop. This particular crop was in full bloom in mid-April. — Photo by Allison Morgan
