Rice and Pasta -
Onion Rice

INGREDIENTS |
- 1 cup uncooked rice
-
3/4 stick butter
-
1 medium onion, chopped
-
1 can beef bouillon
-
1 can consumme
-
1 (7-ounce) can mushrooms with liquid

INSTRUCTIONS |
In a saucepan, melt butter and then brown rice and onions. Pour into a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish and add bouillon, consummé, and mushrooms. Bake at 350° for one hour. Stir twice during baking. Yield: Six to eight servings. “This recipe was given to me by my sister-in-law several years ago. It is easy, delicious, and worth the wait. It’s my family’s favorite and doesn’t compare to similar packaged rice dishes. It’s also good as a leftover, if there is any left.” |
