Apricot Honey Spice Bars

INGREDIENTS |
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine

1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup honey
-
3 eggs
-
13/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon
-
1/2 teaspoon cloves
-
1 cup walnuts, chopped
-
1 (6-ounce) package dried apricots, finely chopped

Lemon glaze:
-
3/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted

1 tablespoon lemon juice

INSTRUCTIONS |
Cream butter, brown sugar, and honey. Add eggs; beat well. Combine next five ingredients; add to creamed mixture and stir well. Stir in nuts and apricots. Spread batter in a greased and floured 15-x-10-x-1-inch baking pan. Bake at 325° for 20 to 25 minutes, checking often to make sure it doesn’t over bake. Combine powdered sugar with lemon juice to make a glaze and brush over bars. |
