Apricot Honey Spice Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 eggs
  • 13/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 (6-ounce) package dried apricots, finely chopped
  • Lemon glaze:
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Instructions


    Cream butter, brown sugar, and honey. Add eggs; beat well. Combine next five ingredients; add to creamed mixture and stir well. Stir in nuts and apricots.
    Spread batter in a greased and floured 15-x-10-x-1-inch baking pan. Bake at 325° for 20 to 25 minutes, checking often to make sure it doesn’t over bake.
    Combine powdered sugar with lemon juice to make a glaze and brush over bars.
