INGREDIENTS |
- 8 egg whites

11/2 cups sugar

1 cup (6 ounces) chocolate morsels, melted

INSTRUCTIONS |
Beat egg whites at high speed with electric mixer until foamy. Add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form. Drop by 1/4-cupfuls onto parchment paper-lined baking sheets. Bake at 250ยก for 30 minutes. Turn off oven and allow meringues to stand in oven with door closed for 30 minutes. Spread a thin layer of melted chocolate on flat side of meringue. Cool on waxed paper for two hours. Yield: Two dozen. |
