Maple Biscuit Dessert

INGREDIENTS |
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup shortening

3/4 cup milk

11/2 cups maple syrup

INSTRUCTIONS |
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and stir just until moistened. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Roll to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. Pour syrup into an 11-x-7-x2-inch baking dish. Place biscuits on top of syrup. Bake at 450ยบ for 12-15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Yield: 10-12 servings. The cook says: Suitable for breakfast or dessert.
