Marinated Asparagus

INGREDIENTS |
- 3 cans asparagus spears, drained, or equal amounts of cooked fresh asparagus

2/3 cup white vinegar

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup water
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
6 whole cloves
-
2 sticks cinnamon
-
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

INSTRUCTIONS |
Combine all ingredients except asparagus; boil to dissolve the sugar. Carefully place asparagus in a flat serving dish and pour marinade on top. Refrigerate overnight and serve cold. Garnish with lemon wedges and chopped pimiento if desired. |
