Desserts - Cherry Triangles

  • 1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 2/3 cup scalded milk
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 package yeast dissolved in 1/3 cup warm water
  • 4 egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • Icing:
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons cream or milk
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Melt butter in scalded milk. Pour into mixing bowl; whisk in egg yolks and yeast mixture. Add flour and mix well. On a floured countertop, roll out half of dough. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and spread filling on top. Roll out remaining dough and place on top of filling.
Allow dough to rise for 15 to 20 minutes. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool slightly.
Mix icing ingredients and drizzle over top.
