Squash Pickles

INGREDIENTS |
- 8 cups sliced squash

4 onions, chopped

2 green peppers, chopped

1/2 cup pickling salt

3 cups sugar

3 cups vinegar
-
1 teaspoon celery seed
-
1 teaspoon mustard seed

INSTRUCTIONS |
Sprinkle salt on top of vegetables. Cover with ice cubes and then with water. Allow vegetables to sit for three hours; drain. Bring sugar, vinegar, celery seed, and mustard seed to a boil; add vegetables. Boil for three minutes. Pack in jars and seal. |
