INGREDIENTS |
- 11/4 cups sugar

3 tbsp. cocoa

3 tbsp. self-rising flour

3 egg yolks

Dash of salt

2 cups milk

2 tsp. vanilla

2 tbsp. butter

Meringue:
-
6 egg whites
-
1/2 tsp cream of tartar

1/4 cup sugar

INSTRUCTIONS |
Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt together and set aside. Mix egg yolks and milk together, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly. Use an 8-inch black skillet. When thick, remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons butter and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Pour into an 9-inch graham cracker crust and top with meringue. Put in oven at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 mins or until brown. To make the meringue, beat egg whites with electric mixer until they start to foam, then add cream of tartar. Beat some more, then add sugar slowly and beat until stiff peaks form. |
