Old Fashioned Ice Cream

| INGREDIENTS |
- 6 Junket Rennet tablets

1/4 cup cold water
-
2 cups sugar
-
6 cups whole milk
-
4 cups heavy whipping cream
-
4 teaspoons vanilla flavoring

Gallon ice cream maker

| INSTRUCTIONS |
Dissolve Rennet tablets in water, crushing them. Set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan. Heat while stirring to lukewarm (110ยบ). Stir in dissolved crushed tablets and quickly pour into freezer container. Let set undisturbed for 10 minutes. Cool. Follow procedure recommended by manufacturer of ice cream maker for preparing ice cream.
Note: When I was using this I tried different flavors. One that won first was toasted pecans in butter with maple flavoring. That became our favorite. |
