Desserts - Cinnamon Ornaments

(For decoration only ... not to be eaten!)

  • 1 cup ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 2 tablepoons white glue

Mix all together to form a stiff dough. Sprinkle rolling surface with cinnamon and roll dough out to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters or into free-form designs. Leave solid to add magnet or make a hole for ribbon to hang. The ornaments may be air-dried, placed in a warm, sunny place and turned frequently; or dried in a 200°F oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Turn once or twice during drying. After ornaments are dried, they may be decorated with craft paints.
