Meats & Seafood - Dip-It Chicken

INGREDIENTS
  • 6 to 8 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in half
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 to 1 cup water
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup lemon juice
  • 1/8 cup vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

INSTRUCTIONS
Cook onion in hot oil until tender. Add remaining ingredients and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Cook chicken in hot oil until browned on each side; remove to baking dish. Pour sauce over chicken, cover, and bake at 375º for 45 minutes to an hour. Serve chicken with a side dish of sauce — thus the name, Dip-It Chicken.
