Meats & Seafood - Hobo Supper



INGREDIENTS
  • 2 pounds ground chuck
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 medium potatoes, quartered
  • 2 large onions, quartered
  • 1 large green pepper, sliced
  • Creole seasoning, optional

INSTRUCTIONS
Mix salt, pepper, and garlic into ground chuck. Shape into four-pound patties and place each on a 12-x-18-inch piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil (double the foil if packages will be grilled). Place four potato quarters, two onion quarters, and pepper slices on each patty. Sprinkle with creole seasoning if desired.
Fold down long edges, then ends, of foil to make a pouch. Place pouches on a 13-x-9-inch baking pan for the oven or directly in coals in grill. Bake at 375ยบ for 40 minutes in oven and for the same amount of time in coals.
Yield: four servings.
Note: You can add other vegetables such as squash, full-length green beans, and mushrooms. Allow five additional minutes cooking time for each vegetable.
