Meats & Seafood - Blue Ribbon Meat Loaf



INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup uncooked oats (quick or regular)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten (optional)
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground chuck or round

INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oven to 350ยบ. Combine all ingredients except ground beef; mix well. Add ground beef and mix lightly but thoroughly. Press into loaf pan or shape in loaf and place on a rack in a greased casserole dish. Bake one hour. Let stand five minutes before slicing.
