Orange Pears

INGREDIENTS |
- 1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon grated lemon rind

4 ripe pears or 8 canned halves

1 tablespoon grated orange rind

1 cup orange juice

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoons butter

INSTRUCTIONS |
Mix dry ingredients. Add butter, rind, and juice. Cook until mixture becomes clear and thickened. Place pears in a shallow baking dish. Cover with sauce. Bake, uncovered, at 350° until pears are tender (15 minutes if canned pears are used). Baste every five minutes with sauce. Serve warm.
