Cajun Pork Chops

INGREDIENTS |
- 1 tablespoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon sage
-
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
-
4 boneless center-cut pork chops (1/2 inch thick)
-
1/2 tablespoon butter
-
1/2 tablespoon oil

INSTRUCTIONS |
In a bowl, combine paprika, cumin, salt, sage, black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Coat chops on both sides with seasoning mixture. Heat butter and oil over high heat in a large skillet until very hot. Place chops in skillet; reduce heat to medium and cook for seven to eight minutes, turning once halfway through cooking time. Yield: Four servings, each with 2 grams carbohydrates, 53 grams protein, 15 grams fat, and 364 calories. |
