Cakes and Pies -
Midnight Lace Icing

INGREDIENTS |
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
-
6 tablespoons milk
-
4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
-
1 teaspoon vanilla
-
4 tablespoons cocoa
-
1 cup chopped pecans
|
INSTRUCTIONS |
Bring butter and milk to a boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat well with an electric mixer. Remove 1/4 cup of mixture and reserve. Add cocoa to remaining mixture in pan and blend well. Add nuts and stir. Spread cake with chocolate icing and allow it to stand for a few minutes. Drizzle white icing over top of chocolate icing in a free-style lace pattern. |
