Rice and Pasta -
Something Special Rice

INGREDIENTS |
- 1 1/2 cups uncooked plain rice
-
1 bunch celery, cut horizontally into 1/8-inch slices

2 medium onions, chopped
-
1 package Lipton’s dry chicken noodle soup mix
-
5 1/2 cups water
-
1 pound sausage
-
American cheese (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS |
In a large pot, combine rice, celery, onions, soup mix, and water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender. In a skillet, crumble and fry sausage until brown; drain. Add sausage to rice and vegetable mixture; mix well. Pour mixture into a large casserole dish that has been coated with nonstick spray. Cover with grated American cheese if desired. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes. |
