Desserts - Honey Bread Pudding



INGREDIENTS
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 6 slices bread with crust, torn into pieces
  • 2/3 cup honey
  • 2/3 cup water, warm
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS
Mix milk and eggs until foamy. Add bread and lightly turn. Soak bread for 15 minutes, turning twice.
Melt butter over medium heat. Sauté soaked bread for about three minutes per side until golden brown. Arrange bread in greased 9-inch baking dish. Mix honey and water until blended. Stir in cinnamon and vanilla, and pour over bread. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°.
Serve with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon and powdered sugar. Garnish with mint sprig.
