Grandma’s Shrimp Soup

INGREDIENTS |
- Ham bone with meat
-
1 onion, chopped
-
1/2 small head of cabbage, chopped
-
3 cups water
-
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
-
1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
-
1/3 cup barley
-
2 pounds frozen soup vegetables
-
1 large can diced tomatoes
-
Salt and pepper to taste
-
11/2 pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined

INSTRUCTIONS |
Place ham bone, onion, cabbage, and water in a large pot and cook until vegetables are tender and meat can be easily pulled from the bone. Add remaining ingredients, except for shrimp, and simmer for four hours, adding water as needed. Add salt and pepper to taste. During the last 30 minutes, add shrimp and cook until shrimp are pink.
