Cheesy Ham & Vegetable Chowder

INGREDIENTS |
- 6 tbsp. margarine

1 cup finely chopped onion

1/3 cup flour

2 cans chicken broth
-
1 (16 oz.) jar cheese whiz

½ cup milk
-
¼ tsp. pepper
-
2 cups cubed potatoes
-
1 cup sliced carrots
-
½ cup chopped celery
-
1 cup chopped ham

INSTRUCTIONS |
Cook onion in margarine until tender. Stir in flour to make a paste and cook 2 minutes, stirring to avoid browning. Mix in chicken broth until smooth and let simmer for 5 minutes. Add cheese whiz, milk, and pepper and stir until thoroughly heated. Cook together potatoes, carrots, and celery. Add to cheese mixture with chopped ham. |
