Cookies and Candy -
Gram’s Peanut Butter Cookies

| INGREDIENTS |
- 1 cup shortening

1 cup peanut butter
-
1 cup sugar
-
1 cup packed brown sugar
-
3 eggs
-
3 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda
-
1/4 teaspoon salt

| INSTRUCTIONS |
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening, peanut butter, and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture.
Roll into 11/2-inch balls and place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with fork. Bake at 375º for 10-15 minutes.
Yield: 3-4 dozen.
The cook says: My granddaughter, Brittany, named these cookies years ago. They were her favorite ones, mostly because she got to play in the dough rolling the balls and making lines on them with a fork. We certainly enjoyed those days ... there were so many laughs. It is hard to believe she is 23 now. |
