Desserts - Brown Sugar Ice Cream



INGREDIENTS
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 1 pound dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 quart milk, scalded
  • 1 quart half-and-half
  • 1/2 pint whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS
Beat eggs, sugar, and cornstarch. Add hot milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Cool. Stir in vanilla and whipping cream.

Pour mixture into freezer can. Use half-and-half to fill freezer 2/3 full. Freeze according to manufacturer’s directions. Makes 1 gallon.
