Recipe of the Month Meats & Seafood - Steaks with Cucumber Sauce

  • 4 boneless New York strip steaks
  • ¾ cup teriyaki sauce
  • ½ cup peeled, seeded, and chopped cucumber
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon minced chives
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon dill weed
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Place steaks in a large, resealable plastic bag. Add teriyaki sauce. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate overnight.
In a bowl, combine cucumber, sour cream, mayonnaise, chives, dill, and salt. Cover and place in refrigerator.
Drain and discard marinade. Grill steaks, uncovered, over medium-high heat for four to five minutes on each side. Serve with cucumber sauce.
Yield: Four servings.
