Fruits and Vegetables - Marinated Asparagus



INGREDIENTS
  • 3 cans asparagus spears, drained, or equal amounts of cooked fresh asparagus
  • 2/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine all ingredients except asparagus; boil to dissolve the sugar. Carefully place asparagus in a flat serving dish and pour marinade on top.
Refrigerate overnight and serve cold. Garnish with lemon wedges and chopped pimiento if desired.
