Recipe of the Month Soups - Taco Soup



INGREDIENTS
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 (14.5 oz.) cans tomatoes,
  • chopped
  • 1 (16 oz.) can pinto beans,
  • undrained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can red kidney
  • beans, undrained
  • 1 (15 oz.) can yellow
  • hominy, undrained
  • 1 (4 oz.) can green chilies,
  • undrained
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 (1.25 oz.) pkg. taco
  • seasoning mix
  • 1 (4 oz.) pkg. ranch salad
  • dressing mix
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS
Cook ground beef and onion until meat is brown. Drain. Add remaining ingredients and cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Makes 13 cups.
