Cookies and Candy - Honey-Caramel Popcorn



INGREDIENTS
  • 4 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

INSTRUCTIONS
Remove all unpopped kernels and place popcorn in a large grocery-size brown paper bag.
Put brown sugar, honey, and margarine in 2- to 3-quart microwave-safe container. Bring mixture to a boil on full power. Stir; boil mixture for 3 minutes, stirring after each minute. Remove from microwave and add baking soda. Stir well (mixture will foam).
Pour boiled mix over popcorn in bag. Cook on full power for 1 minute, 15 seconds. Remove from microwave and shake hard. Cook on full power for another 1 minute, 15 seconds. Shake bag well again. Pour popcorn on clean countertop to cool. Break apart and store in an airtight container.
