Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground lean beef
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder (do not omit)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 (15 1/2-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • Instructions


    In a heavy pan, brown beef, stirring to break up; drain grease. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir until onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer over low heat for one hour, stirring occasionally.
