Submitted By: Joyce Holman

Ingredients

  • 11/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (4 ounces) miniature marshmallows
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) white chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 11/2 teaspoons maple flavoring
  • Approximately 50 walnut halves or pieces
  • Instructions

Line a 13-x-9-inch baking pan with foil. Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt in a medium-sized heavy saucepan. Over medium heat, bring mixture to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Continue to boil and stir for 41/2 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir in marshmallows, white chocolate morsels, chopped walnuts, and maple flavoring. Stir vigorously for one minute or until marshmallows are melted.
Pour into prepared foil-lined pan. Place walnut halves in rows, spaced about 1/2 inch apart on top of fudge. Slightly press nuts into fudge slightly. Refrigerate until firm.
Lift fudge from pan, remove foil, and cut into pieces with one walnut half per piece. Yield: 50 pieces.
