Toasted Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 cans green beans
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup crushed corn flakes
  • ½ cup grated swiss cheese

Instructions


Heat beans thoroughly; drain well. Sauté onion in butter until golden. Stir in flour and salt to make a paste. Add milk; cook until sauce is smooth and thick, stirring constantly. Mix sauce and beans together and place in a casserole dish. Sprinkle cornflake crumbs and cheese over top. Bake at 375° until bubbly and the cheese has melted.
