Cheesy Ham & Vegetable Chowder

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp. margarine
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 1 (16 oz.) jar cheese whiz
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • 2 cups cubed potatoes
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped ham
  • Instructions


    Cook onion in margarine until tender. Stir in flour to make a paste and cook 2 minutes, stirring to avoid browning. Mix in chicken broth until smooth and let simmer for 5 minutes. Add cheese whiz, milk, and pepper and stir until thoroughly heated. Cook together potatoes, carrots, and celery. Add to cheese mixture with chopped ham.
