Pecan Pie Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 family size box fudge
  • brownie mix + ingredients
  • on box
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1½ cup light corn syrup
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cup chopped pecans
  • Instructions


    Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9x13 pan. Prepare brownies according to box instructions. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until brownies are set but toothpick still shows slight batter.
    While brownies bake, make pecan pie filling: In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, whisk together sugar, corn syrup, eggs, butter, and vanilla. Cook 15 minutes, stirring continuously. Add pecans and continue to stir until thick but still pourable, about 3 minutes.
    Pour pecan mixture over brownies. Bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool completely before serving. (Also good warmed with vanilla ice cream!)
