Mix bananas, white sugar, and nutmeg. Place mixture in bottom of greased 10x6x1 1/2-inch baking pan. Combine brown sugar, flour, oats, and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter and shortening and sprinkle over bananas.
Bake at 375° for 40 minutes or until crisp and browned. Serve warm with cream if desired.
Yield: Six to eight servings.
