1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
5 cups chopped, cooked mixed vegetables (such as broccoli, potatoes, cauliflower, and carrots)
Processed cheese to taste, optionalInstructions
In a large kettle, sauté onion in butter until tender. Add flour; cook and stir until thickened. Stir in broth, milk, basil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add vegetables; cook gently until heated through. Stir in cheese, if desired.
Yield: 3 quarts.
