Rich ā€™nā€™ Thick Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Miniature marshmallows, optional

Instructions


Place water and chocolate in heavy medium-sized saucepan. Cook on low heat until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring constantly with a wire whisk. Add sugar; mix well. Bring to a boil on medium-high heat. Boil three minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk, stirring with wire whisk until well blended. Stir in vanilla. Reduce heat to medium. Cook until mixture is heated through, stirring occasionally. Serve with marshmallows, if desired.
