In a medium mixing bowl, beat eggs; gradually beat in sugar, mixing well. Mix in syrup, vanilla, salt, and peanut butter, blending thoroughly. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 300° F. for 40 to 45 minutes.
While pie is hot, place a circle of chocolate chips in center of pie; sprinkle remaining chips around outside edge. Fill in remainder of top of pie with coconut. Cool before serving.
