Savory Sweet Roast

Ingredients

  • 3- to 4-pound blade roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Instructions


    Brown meat on both sides in skillet. Add onions. Blend together remaining ingredients. Pour over meat. Cover and simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until tender.

    Juice can be used for gravy or to cook noodles in after the roast is done.

    Roast can also be cooked in a slow cooker on low heat for 12 to 16 hours.
