Chili Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 packages crescent dinner roll dough
  • 4 ounces Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 green pepper, sliced in rings or chopped
  • Instructions


    Brown ground beef in a skillet; pour off excess grease. Add onion and saute over medium heat until onion is transparent. Add the next five ingredients and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
    Preheat oven to 400°. Press crescent roll dough into bottom and up the sides of a 12- or 14-inch pizza pan or cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Spread chili evenly over dough; sprinkle with cheese and green pepper. Bake for another 15 to 18 minutes. Serve immediately.
    Yield: Four servings.
