Russian Tea

Ingredients

  • 3 lemons, thinly sliced
  • 3 oranges, thinly sliced
  • 1 gallon water
  • 1 quart water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 quart unsweetened hot tea
  • 1 tall can unsweetened pineapple juice
  • Instructions


    Bring 1 gallon of water to a boil. Drop in lemon and orange slices; reduce heat and slowly boil for 15 minutes. Strain; set water aside, keeping it hot.
    In a larger pot, combine 1 quart water, sugar, cloves, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil; strain and reserve cinnamon sticks. Pour in tea and pineapple juice. Combine with first mixture of water and lemon and orange slices. Return cinnamon sticks to mixture and bring to a boil.
    Serve hot.
