1 large can crushed pineapple, drained and liquid reserved

Cream sugar, shortening, and eggs; add vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add nuts and gently fold in pineapple.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
If desired, combine pineapple juice and enough powdered sugar to make icing of a desired consistency; spread on hot cookies.
