1 cup pecans, chopped
1 (12 oz.) pkg. vanilla chips

Roll candy in ¼ cup sugar after candy is diced,then set aside. Cream butter, shortening, brown sugar, and remaining 1¼ cups sugar. Add eggs and beat well after each addition. Add vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt, then add to butter mixture. Mix well and add pecans, vanilla chips, and candy. Roll into 1-inch balls and bake on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375° degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
