Knobby Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 3 tbsps. butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups diced and pared apples, chopped fine after measuring
  • ½ cup walnuts, chopped
  • Instructions


    Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar, then beat in the egg and vanilla. Stir in sifted dry ingredients, apples, and nuts. Bake in a greased and floured 9-inch cake pan at 350º for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean.
