5-Hour Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 11/2 pounds chuck roast
  • (bite size)
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 4 carrots, sliced round
  • 2-3 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 No. 2 can tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons minute tapioca
  • 2-3 splashes Worcestershire sauce
  • Sprinkle of oregano
  • (optional)
  • Instructions


    Do not brown meat. Layer ingredients in Dutch oven with tight-fitting lid. Add meat, celery, carrots, potatoes, onions, bread crumbs, tomatoes, salt, sugar, tapioca, and Worcestershire sauce. Bake at 350ยบ for 5-6 hours, stirring only once halfway through.
