In a saucepan, combine sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat; set aside. Set aside 1 cup of sauce to serve with burgers.
In a bowl, combine egg, oats, onion salt, garlic salt, pepper, salt, and 1/4 cup barbecue sauce. Crumble beef over mixture; mix well. Shape into six patties. Grill on each side; baste with 1/2 cup barbecue sauce. Serve on buns, with toppings of your choice and reserved barbecue sauce.
